Are there known company in Canada that sells cell phone plans without the cell phone? I want to buy a cell phone plan without a handset overpriced. I want to be able to buy a phone outside of eBay and put my own SIM card in you! Is such a plan there?

I now have 2 mobile phones on the cricket plan. I will pay 2 per month, and it's unlimited minutes, text and long distance. I would like to keep my phone number, but I want to get more phones for two more my children.
Can anyone recommend a good plan with 4 phones that allow me to keep my existing phone number?
What are the lowest cost cell phone plans for during the day? I need to use a mobile phone much during weekdays and early evening hours for the next month or two. Mostly within a Midwestern area, but I must also be able, that call East and West Coast without roaming fees. These next two months I hardly mobile phone at all, may have so I don't want to commit a long-term plan. I need the phone for calls, don't need texting and so on. It could be a monthly plan or a pay as you go.
